Green Kids Rock Launches New Eco-Action
Website for Tweens

Cleveland, Ohio, U.S. – April 22, 2010.

“The Guardians of Neerg Hall” at www.NeergHall.com  is a new eco-action website for kids age 8-14 and their parents. The new website promises to be one part “Harry Potter” and one part “Planet Green.”  “The Guardians of Neerg Hall” was created to empower kids to start their own movement—one that will change how we manage our personal waste. Founder Wendy Wercion was inspired by her now 9-year-old son, Ethan, to create and develop a website that would build awareness, educate and inspire kids to advocate for the environment.

The content currently featured on the website is free and includes an animated character introduction, monthly e-chapters and science investigations. Contests are designed to motivate kids to participate and engage in the material. The current contest, “Guardians of the Ocean” is a plastics investigation. Content was created and designed with the help of Earth Day Coalition and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Winners will receive Neerg Hall T-shirts and e-readers.

It’s cool to be a “Neerg.” As a Guardian of Neerg Hall, kids can join Ethan, Marcus and Elena on exciting eco-action adventures to save Planet Earth. But beware the Sanguisuge, a malevolent and secret society determined to thwart their progress. The content and storyline was created to support Project Kaisei, a non-profit based in San Francisco and Hong Kong, established to increase the understanding and the scale of marine debris, its impact on our ocean environment and how we can introduce solutions for both prevention and clean-up.  Interactive features and games are planned for next year. A preview, produced by Case Western Reserve University, can be viewed and enjoyed on www.NeergHall.com.
